this recipe from Martha Stewart is probably my all time favorite dessert to make EVER. i love this cookie form because it's chewy in the inside with a delicious crunchy crust... insane.
here is the original recipe as well as some of my tips to amp it up–
ingredients
6 tbsp unsalted butter, room temp
1/3 c brown sugar
1/2 c granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract (i put a lil extra)
1 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp coarse salt (i put a lil extra)
1 c chocolate chips
1/4 c toffee bits (my special ingredient)
preheat the oven to 350 degrees
in a bowl, light mix together the butter and sugars. use the rest of the left over butter & its wrapper to grease a 10 inch cast-iron skillet
beat in the egg and vanilla
slowly add in the flour. i like to do it in 1/4 c increments
add in the baking soda and salt and mix
stir in the chocolate chips and toffee bits
bake for 12-18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
enjoy!
best of luck and happy baking
